Dick Advocate hires to rescue Sparta (Rotterdam)
Former Dutch national coach Dick Advocate has resolved to rescue Sparta (Rotterdam), a troubled local club, with the appointment being made in the first week of the new 2018 year. A lawyer left the post of national coach on November 14th after a 3-0 victory over Romania in a control match, and the overall Tulip campaign was quite unsuccessful after another squandered qualification for World Cup 2018. The former Zenith mentor (St. Petersburg), Fenerbahce and the Australian national team signed a contract by the end of the season, the Rotterdam-based press service told Reuters. His assistants will be Fred Grimm and Cornelius `Kor` Pot, a former youth national coach of the country.
Sparta (Rotterdam) is currently in the penultimate 17th place in the standings with 11 points in 17 games. Only the last in the 18-member Eredivisie falls directly, and the two teams in front of him play barrages to keep their seats with second-level teams.
